Example Problem #2

Example Problem 2

I used a protractor and a ruler with a scale of 10 lb. = 1 inch to draw the parallelogram. I first drew A, then drew B (starting at the end of A and at the correct angle) such that it extended to the vertical line from the origin where I started. Then I used the ruler and scale to estimate the magnitude of B and R. Finally I used trigonometry to mathematically determine the magnitude of B and R. Note how the rough values obtained by using the ruler and protractor and the calculated values are in approximate agreement.
